Philanthropy & Major Gifts

Whether you would like to make a gift personally or through a Trust or Foundation, our experienced team can help you make a real difference to the lives of sportspeople.

For individuals and families whose philanthropic goals align with our charitable aims, there are a number of ways you can help. We will work with you to understand the areas of our work that you really care about.

You may be passionate about a particular sport, geographic area or underrepresented community, or you may wish to support us in our mission more generally. We will tailor your support to ensure that your donation achieves your charitable goals.

Donors making significant contributions to our work can be involved as much or as little as they wish. You will have the opportunity to visit the projects you have supported, you could work with us to be part of the solution and you can become part of our community of supporters. Equally, we understand that many donors wish to remain anonymous – our experienced team would be delighted to talk to you about the ways you might like your contribution to be recognised.

Tax Effective Giving

You are probably already aware of the Gift Aid scheme, however this only applies to the basic rate of tax (20%). Higher rate tax payers (40% or 45%) are entitled to tax relief on donations as they are able to reclaim the difference between their tax rate and the basic rate tax on the whole donation including Gift Aid (25%) making giving an attractive option. So for example, a £25,000 donation for a 45% tax payer with Gift Aid becomes £31,250 to the charity, and after tax relieve the net cost to the donor is £17,187.50.

If you are considering making a major gift to Switch the Play Foundation, our Head of Partnerships would be delighted to speak to you about your philanthropic ambitions and work with you to discover how you could make a transformational change for sportspeople.
