Our New Brand

Switch the Play Foundation has a brand new look!
Switch the Play was set up in 2014 by a group of sport specialists and former sportspeople. In 2020 we gained charity status, allowing us to help more people than ever before.
Our mission is to empower sportspeople to plan for and manage a successful transition to life outside of sport. We achieve this through working with sports organisations and athletes we support as well as educating and developing sportspeople, during and beyond their sporting career.
After ten years of supporting athletes to reach their post-playing potential, we are now looking to the future, expanding the scope of our ambition and needing a new brand identity to reflect that growth.
What is changing?
Our new logo accompanies a strong message about our identity at Switch the Play Foundation.
‘Redefining the Path’ encapsulates our commitment to both supporting and inspiring sportspeople to redefine their paths and create new opportunities beyond their athletic careers.
The centrepiece is a modern and clean logomark, meticulously designed to symbolise the journey and transformation that athletes undergo.
The logomark’s negative space signifies the new path that can be taken by sportspeople to establish their future.
This new and refreshed imagery is key in displaying our identity and emphasising our commitment to helping sportspeople to manage a successful transition into life outside of sport.
Why is this important?
Our founder and CEO, Rob Young said: “A lot has changed since we were founded 10 years ago and as a small charity we have to work hard to raise awareness of our cause. We are really proud to have supported over 2,500 athletes from over 60 sports in the last year alone. As we embark on some exciting new projects to deepen the impact of our work, this feels like the perfect time to refresh our brand.
It is vital that we continue to raise awareness of our cause and our work with both athletes and supporters. Transition to life beyond sport can be tough but we support athletes to look forward with positivity to how they navigate a life outside of sport, knowing that they are not alone.”
