Purpose of the masterclass

One of the reasons fans love sport is its unpredictable nature. But a questionable referee decision, poor weather conditions or spectator behaviour interrupting the game can all affect a sportsperson’s performance. They are also all out of your control. This masterclass will give you the understanding and tools to focus only on the things you can control and make progress, no matter what the circumstances, either within or outside your sporting career.

Who’s it for?

Individual sportspeople, groups of sportspeople (teams), dual-career athletes or sporting organisations/practitioners.

Why this masterclass?

In sport and in business, life is full of unexpected events that can knock us. Those who have the mental strength to take responsibility for their own performance and focus only on what they can control are the real winners. This masterclass will help you identify your current ability to role with the punches, where you need to improve and how. You will explore self-leadership skills, how your attitude determines a situation and how to take personal responsibility. You’ll learn techniques to anticipate future events, so you can best prepare and develop a winning edge over others. Whether planning for sporting performance or a transition into a new career, this masterclass will help you progress and take action.

Mini-masterclasses can be tailored to be between 45 and 90 minutes long. Full masterclasses are 3 hours long.

"After this masterclass, I have a greater awareness of the importance of planning for a life outside of sport as you never know when it will finish. The most important thing I learnt was to never say you don’t have time [to develop outside of sport]."

Jack Willis, Wasps Rugby Player.
